Being a young woman this day in age must be so conflicting. In a way, I think, all the information is at your fingertips, at the same time, you are being bombarded with too much information about who and what you should be and look like. It must be at times confusing to choose or even imagine what you want to be.

Our goals as parents, guardians (in my case Aunt), is to help our young adults reach for their goals, aspirations in a safe, loving, encouraging way. Guide them on their path, so their journey is not as traitorous.  We can only do so much for them, because at the end they are the ones who make the choices and the ones who are walking their path.

My goal as a photographer is to help ease their minds, build their confidence, empower their souls to keep pushing through all the noise that sets them back.  I want them to feel loved, brilliant and oh so beautiful.  Not only on the outside, but on the inside. I want to capture their smiles that light up the room, I want to capture what you see in your child everyday, and also capture them right at that moment when they are in this age right now.  They grow up so fast, at a blink of an eye, they are off to college, away from home.

I remember when I was a teenager, I took some "Glamour Shots" at the mall. I remember it helping my self esteem, I remember feeling beautiful, loving, intelligent, and that I must keep going on my amazing path. I was eager to find out what I would become.  When I look back at those pictures, I am able to remember my youth and I smile knowing that I survived my youth.

It is always such a delight to see your daughter come into her own, and have amazing portraits to remember her as your little girl.
